According to a recent Accor survey, Singaporeans and Indians are the top-spending business travelers in the Asia-Pacific region.
The survey included interviews from over 2,500 business travelers who took trips in the first half of 2012. The survey studied business travelers from Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
The Accor Asia-Pacific Business Travelers Survey revealed that Singaporeans spend about $468 per trip, while Indians spend about $399.
The survey also revealed other useful information about Asian-Pacific business travelers. Australians spend the most on hotel accommodation and corporate apartments, averaging $173 per night. The Aussies are followed by Singaporeans, who spend $156 per night, and Indians, who spend $133 per night. The survey also noted that Indians were the most likely to book their accommodation reservations directly on the hotel or corporate suite website.
Singaporeans spent 16 percent more per night in the first half of 2012 than they did in the first half of 2011. As a whole, the rest of Asia-Pacific travelers only increased their budgets by 3.3 percent.
